PWR Fusion: Step Into Your PWR With Kelsey Wells - Hero image

Kelsey Wells is the trainer behind some of the most popular programs on the Sweat app, such as PWR and PWR At Home, and when she launched her 2023 Sweat Challenge program PWRful You, we were blown away by the response from the Sweat Community.

The program was designed to help you feel strong inside AND out as you forged a powerful mind-body connection. And time and time again, we heard from members who were raving about the program on the Sweat Forum and sliding into our DMs asking if we would consider keeping it as a permanent Sweat program after the Sweat Challenge had ended.

“I am loving your new program! I really really hope there's more eventually - six weeks isn't enough. But seriously… The format keeps it interesting and I'm feeling so strong and energised! Thank you!” one member said.

“Please tell us future PWR program releases will follow this structure. It was a game changer and provided a great opportunity to push ourselves vs. having to conserve energy to complete two supersets. Love it!” said another.

A third member even went as far as to say it was her favourite Sweat program of all time!

“Everything about it is amazing. The programming is genius. I love the versatility and how I feel when I’m finished with it. This first week reminded me of so many reasons that I love working out. Sweat, please make this a permanent program with more weeks. Please! It’s so, so good.”

You asked and we listened. If life just hasn’t been the same since you finished PWRful You, or you got wind of how amazing it was and had FOMO, we’ve got great news for you. PWR Fusion is available permanently on the Sweat app, with a second training block added due to high demand!

Still on the fence about whether you want to give PWR Fusion a try? Here are more of the comments from the Sweat Community that twisted our arm.

What is PWR Fusion?

PWR Fusion is a progressive 12-week strength training program designed by Kelsey Wells, combining her signature training style and the most popular elements of her PWR and PWR At Home programs while taking inspiration from the PWRful You Sweat Challenge program.

“It’s a fusion of the programming from PWR, my gym-based weight training program and PWR At Home, my home-based strength training program,” Kelsey explains.

Who is PWR Fusion for?

PWR Fusion is perfect for intermediate fitness levels who have access to a gym or a good home set-up, but it can also be modified for beginners or those who only have access to a set of dumbbells.

“PWR Fusion will meet you where you’re at,” she says, emphasising her passion for workout programs which you can tailor to your own needs and goals while building your physical and emotional strength.

How is PWR Fusion structured?

The 12-week program is made up of two 6-week training blocks, designed to help you progress and continue feeling challenged.

In each week, there are three 30-45 minute strength training workouts each week to target and strengthen different muscle groups across your upper and lower body, plus an optional fourth core workout and weekly cardio sessions. Each workout follows a format that includes muscle activation, pyramids, trisets, supersets and burnouts.

In Block 2 (weeks 7-12), you’ll dial up the intensity as you continue to build strength with three targeted workouts, following the same format as Block 1, plus a new optional leg-day session!

“The formatting is a bit more condensed than PWR or PWR At Home, but that does not mean it’s less productive. It’s so much fun and it’s fast paced without being plyo (jumping),” she says.

If you’re familiar with Kelsey’s training style and other programs, PWR Fusion follows the same structure as her popular PWRful You challenge program, while incorporating fan-favourite elements from PWR and PWR At Home.

What equipment will you need?

If you have access to a gym or have a great range of home gym equipment, you’ll be using a barbell and weight plates, a squat rack, dumbbells, a bench, kettlebells, a deadball, and resistance bands.

If you have limited access to equipment or are still building your confidence using gym equipment, you can also make adjustments to complete each workout with dumbbells.

What will you achieve?

Over the course of the program, you’ll aim to progressively build your strength and start to lift heavier weights. Kelsey has designed PWR Fusion to help you feel stronger, fitter and more confident by the end of the 12 weeks.

“This is strength training that is geared to help you grow stronger physically and remember how strong you are and always have been,” Kelsey says.
